A short video created for the Aikaterini Laskaridi Foundation exploring the historical importance of Thomas Cochrane’s archive and its contribution to a deeper understanding of the Greek Revolution.
Through 1,200 digitized letters and personal correspondence with Greek military leaders, politicians, and collaborators, the archive reveals new perspectives on Cochrane’s role in Greece during the years of the Revolution. The collection, preserved in the National Records of Scotland and made freely accessible by the Foundation, offers valuable insight into this critical historical period.
The story behind Lord Cochrane and his archive is presented in the video with commentary by historian and author Lena Divani.
